Look Up: Total Lunar Eclipse
RDV: Mont Semnoz, France
Date: 07.09.2025 (8:00 PM)
ABOUT THE EVENT
Sunday, 7 September, step outside and look up: a total lunar eclipse will turn the Moon a deep coppery red. No eye protection needed, just find a clear view to the eastern horizon.
In France (CEST), the Moon rises already in totality (Paris ~20:17); the total phase ends around 20:52, the partial eclipse fades until ~21:56, and faint penumbral shading lingers to ~22:55.
In Spain (CEST), the Moon rises already in totality at about 20:30, the total phase ends around 20:52, and the partial eclipse fades until roughly 22:55.
Bring a blanket, a pair of binoculars, and a friend, free sky theatre for everyone, weather permitting.
NeurAstra members: We plan to gather at the top of Mont Semnoz, at the beginning of the trail, just after the last car park. Feel free to bring a picnic and stay with us to watch the celestial event.

On the Moon Again
—
Camille Flammarion in the Spotlight for the Sixth Edition
RDV: Mont Salève, France
Date: June 6-7-8 2025
Open to: NeurAstra Members / Public
ABOUT THE EVENT
On the Moon Again is a global outreach initiative inviting astronomy enthusiasts to share the wonder of lunar observation with the public. From June 6–8, 2025, participants worldwide will set up telescopes in public spaces—such as city squares, riverbanks, or outside cafés—to offer passers-by a chance to observe the Moon up close. This year's edition commemorates the 100th anniversary of Camille Flammarion, a pioneer in popular astronomy.
The event aims to rekindle the collective excitement experienced during the 1969 Moon landing by making lunar observation accessible to all. By bringing telescopes to where people naturally gather, the initiative seeks to inspire curiosity and appreciation for astronomy among individuals who might not otherwise seek out such experiences.
🌕 On the evening of June 7, NeurAstra will set up a portable observatory at the summit of Mont Salève (74560, Haute-Savoie) to take part in the On the Moon Again global initiative. Our team will dedicate the night to celestography—observing, documenting, and sharing the beauty of the Moon through lenses and sketches.
